Men's Hockey Canada vs. Germany |

Our first event when we arrived in Torino was a men's hockey game. We had bought tickets on line for over $100 but quickly realized after talking to people that you can buy tickets at the event for half the price and sit within 10 rows of the ice... we also were introduced to the Olympic cheer leaders. They cheered at every game for both men and women. It was a little weird but hey they were cute... oh and check out Pete and I showing our support for the Canadians.... also an interesting observation is that there seemed to be a lot of Canadians in Torino more than people from the US or Australia...
...oh and apparently carabiners (a clip used in climbing and repelling) were a security risk at the games... I had 2 of them clipped to my back pack for skiing and the security guard searching us on the way into the Palasport took them off my back pack... now when I go through the airports with my back pack they never have a problem with them...personally I think he wanted them for himself, I tried to argue with him but I traveled half way around the world and in the end if I had to give a crooked Italian soldier my 2 carabiners as a pay off to get into the hockey game then so be it... bastard!
